The winter holidays are the most wonderful time of the year, and our city knows how to celebrate the season. Whether it's in Center City or in the Countryside, Philadelphia has a slew of annual traditions that every festive boy and girl can take part in. And don't forget about the parades!

The Fanciest New Year’s Day Celebration is in Philadelphia for the Mummers Fancy Brigade Finale at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. Residents and visitors are invited to enjoy a Mummers performance in a warm, exciting environment at a guaranteed show that kicks off the new year.

Free things to do in Philadelphia aren't hard to find. First, there's all the history, which comes free of charge, whether you're touring the church where George Washington worshiped or visiting the house where Thomas Jefferson drafted the Declaration of Independence. Then there's all the free attractions that dedicate themselves to subjects as diverse as fossils to Quaker culture. They all share one thing in common: $0.
